Looks like Yahoo! has released an update to Yahoo! Messenger. The current release is v10.0.0.1267. So, if you are having a version lower than this, update your messenger now by downloading the current version from here.

Pradeep Sarkar of ‘Parineeta’ fame is all set to direct his next for Yash Raj Films starring Deepika Padukone and Neil Nitin Mukesh. The pairing of the two stars will be totally fresh and it will interesting to see what the film is going to be all about!

WordPress has announced a rollup and bug fixing patch release for WordPress 2.6 which is v 2.6.1 Beta 1. It is not a security update so you can relax and hang up your boots for now. It is primarily intended for IIS users who are hosting there blogs on IIS hosts. So see if it is applicable to you or not. Do what you want. As for me, I am happy with my Linux hosting on GoDaddy. So, I guess I will stay put with 2.6

Bernie Mac passed away as a result of complications related to pneumonia. We all are gonna miss him. It’s a sad day for all of the fun loving people in this grim world.

By the way, I loved his role in the Ocean’s series of movies. I didn’t see his television series, The Bernie Mac Show. 

My condolences are with the family of our friend Bernie.

RIP brother. Maybe, God wanted you more than us.

Finally Karan Johar’s hyped movie Dostana has been shown via movie stills. Atleast we can now gauge what the movie will look like.

Yesterday, 27th Of July 2008, was the finale of Kya Aap Panchvi Paas Se Tez Hain?. For those who don’t know, Panchvi Paas is the Indian version of “Are you smarter than a Fifth Grader?”.

Coming back to the finale, Shahrukh Khan had none other than our very own Lalu Prasad Yadav for company. It was really a great show and had Lalu chugging through the whole episode and answering all the questions without much hesitation.

Or perhaps the show’s questions were setup that way? Who knows. Anyway, I pretty much enjoyed the show and was thoroughly entertained by our very own Railway Minister who has an ear to the ground!

With TRPs or ratings running low for the show mostly due to the Indian Premier League debuting side by side, I am doubtful if the show will return for a second season. Although SRK was optimistic about it and was saying that this is the season finale episode.

Christian Bale is starring in the next installment of the Terminator series, made famous by original Terminator Arnold Schwarznegger, titled (tentatively?) Terminator: Salvation.

After conquering the comic book fans imagination with his unique take on the The Dark Knight, Batman, Christian is sure to take the Terminator series to the next level! Kudos to those involved in casting Bale in Terminator 4. Best of Luck! Meanwhile watch the exclusive sneak peek of Terminator: Salvation.

As the year 2007 (Y2K7) draws to a close, pretty soo there will be a lot of places with a list of this and that and good and bad and so on.
But the first one to do so is Rediff which has put together this page that takes a look at happenings of 2007.

Finally, things are coming back together. So what even if they are coming in steps. It’s a great headache when you see things coming on like this with a website and blog that has grown bigger than I ever expected it to be!

I am happy that I took the decision to move to GoDaddy.com. They are giving me more options than my last host. I can atleast ensure that my blog and website do not go down again.

I hope you people will come back as the things are coming back into place. You can expect more now than ever before due to the increased things I’ve got on my mind!

My blog was down due to a memory allocation error that was being generated from my ISP’s meagre allocation of 8MB to all the accounts. I tried to fix it the same day that I came to know about it but was unable to do so!

Anyway, when I failed to get anything out, I went to GoDaddy.com and took up a hosting account with them. Interestingly another incident found its place in my diary of wacky happenings.

I took a Linux hosting package for an year and then went on to pay by my credit card. When I was in the process of paying them while my payment was being processed that is, my DSL went down. I thought the transaction was not completed so I went ahead and purchased the same product (of hosting) another time. This time when I clicked on ‘process payment’ for my credit card, it went through successfully and then I was taken to the products that I had with me on my account (apart from the domains I have at their place), I saw I had two hosting packages.

But wait. I purchased only one package? Or two? Actually the first transaction had gone through and I didn’t see a confirmation page as the connection was lost before I could see it.

So, I applied for a refund by cancelling the product from my account. When I got a reply from their customer care executive, I was a little surprised. I had written to them with the reason for buying by pure accident the same product two times. The executive’s reply was that he had applied for a refund on my behalf and that it was not confirmed if I would get refund or not. this was at the sole discretion if the Sales/Purchase team or whatever.
Anyway, after much hassle, they did refund me with the payment. It will take them about 5-7 business days to put the money back on my credit card.
Oh woe is me!
Well, my trouble finally seem to be over as I shift my blog (and my whole site) to GoDaddy. It was really tough since I had a big blog (by now) and shifting the mySQL thing to another server was a big headache.
Anyway, life seems to be back on track. In the coming days, the site will be back to it’s full functionality. Inshallah.
