Usage of All Pumped Up! requires that you have the following required settings and/or programs available on your system:
Internet Connection: A Dial-Up Connection (56K) and above
Supported Browsers*: I recommend Firefox 1.x.x and above or Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x and above. Although all the major browsers out there other than these two should work too. (I have tested Opera myself and of course Netscape 9.1 which is a modified Firefox). I haven’t checked Safari so please give me your feedback as to the appearance of All Pumped Up! on Safari. Works fine with Safari (Windows version) as well.
Supported Resolution*: 800×600 1024×768 (Higher resolutions are encouraged)
Is JavaScript Required?: Yes
FAQ’s
What is Mobile Edition? Can I use it on my PC too?*: The Mobile Edition uses Alex King’s WP Mobile Edition plugin which helps display the site in a lighter, mobile-friendly version. This version of the site can be viewed both on a handheld device (iPhone, Nokia Smartphones etc.) or it can also be viewed on a PC with a slow internet connection and where it is difficult to open the site easily.
I like the theme you’re using. What’s the Site Look & Feel?*: The current look and feel of the site is a theme for WordPress called “Pixel”. If you are interested in it, the link can be found in the footer of this blog.
How do I differentiate between internal and external links?*: I was thinking you would ask. As I continue working on improving my blog and my blogging skills, I am also working on organizing the blog in such a way that it would be easy to distinguish between internal links and external links. As of all the new posts, external links will be distinguishable by being cursive and bold.
Why do Links open in new window/tab?: Well, I knew you were going to come up with this question too. As of now, external links will open in a new window or tab and links to pages/posts within the site will open in the same window. This way, it will be easy for you to visit the site you read about on this blog without having to leave the blog. BTW, I’m not the only one who uses this format. I’m sure there are many people out there who are doing this, so please do not curse me!
Why don’t you embed the videos on your posts instead of linking to them. It will save us the time to view?*: Well, this is what I personally believe in as well. But unfortunately, as many WordPress themes that I have tried, I haven’t found a solution yet to this problem. I did embed a video in one of my earlier post and that resulted in a broken page/theme/site and so I had to simply give a link to the video instead of embedding it here. This will ensure a better experience on the site for you, my esteemed readers. Bear with me until I have found a solution to this issue. The Video embedding support has been added to the site with the upgrade of my blog to 2.6 and with the help of the new theme, Paintbrush.
Hey Buddy, what version of WordPress are you using on your blog?*: Well people, I use WordPress 2.8 now, which is the latest version.
Well, I guess this should help you in having a good experience at All Pumped Up!
