Can You Believe That My Ignore List Is Full on Yahoo! Messenger?

Well, I must say that even though my preferred messenger (I have been using the service ever since there was v5.0 of the damn good messenger!), these days there’s been a lot of IM spam on it.
Since spam is like an evil that we have to live with. Pretty much the same way as we have to live with the fact that we haven’t found any extra terrestrial life and yet we (being as curious as we are) keep searching for even the faintest sign of even a micro-organism out there (in the big black space).
Anyway, let us get back to what we really are talking here.
So, now that you know what’s been causing headaches to companies like Yahoo! (if you are dumb then it is SPAM, choclate boy [or girl] ), let us talk about the features available in the current version (I’m not talking about the beta) has to offer. The first line of defence here is an Ignore List or you can block all those who are not on your list (which, atleast, I cannot do). So, I chose option 1 since it is the best way.
Here’s the shocking part now, the IM spammers have actually outdone Yahoo! and have caused my Ignore list to get full. I’m not exactly sure how many ids it contains but it sure is more than a 1000. Or less? Anybody from Yahoo! around to answer that question for me? Anybody?
I wonder what Yahoo! has done about this thing? Everyday, I get about 10-15 IM spammers (sending me messages about this and that. I can’t elaborate more, trust me. And you sure don’t want to read about it!) who I definitely “Mark as Spam” which Yahoo provides. This ignores the user by adding him/her to my ignore list and (perhaps) reporting them to Yahoo!
Now, my suggestion is that instead of adding the user id, which was the cause of the spam, to my ignore list, it should be deleted and reported to Yahoo!
Well, version 9 (which is beta) also doesn’t carry any improvement to this feature. I hope they recognize this drawback and help us hapless users to fight back. Or atleast increase the limit of that ignore list. Puhleeeeeeez. We beg of you.
Till God Helps us, the spammers rule the roost. Atleast for now.
