Yesterday, after finally accessing Yahoo! Mail, I decided to switch to the older version of the Yahoo! Mail client (which is now called Yahoo! Mail Classic).
Well, to my surprise, I found quite a number of changes in the client and then spotted the link at the top right, saying “What’s new?”, which would of course display to us what were the changes that have been made. It does include a complete list of changes but I will mention just some of them here for the rest you can read the complete list of features at Yahoo! Mail:
- Address Book is now “Contacts” (good that they changed the name, its a lot simpler now)
- Bulk Folder is now “Spam” (Standard Term is good for us to distinguish what exactly the bulk folder contains)
- Third party POP access is possible now (This includes all the online mail services which provide POP access as well like GMail)
- Messages Flagging (for following up later)
- Inline Signature Inclusion by default when you compose a new message (finally!)
- Forwarding as attachment (Simply press the <Ctrl> Key and then click on Forward and the current message will be forwarded as an attachment)
Well, this will certainly cheer up all those (including myself) who love the classic interface and who never liked the Outlook-clone All New (sic!) Yahoo! Mail. There will be more to come in the future hopefully.
