Well, sometime back I had managed to put together a list of WordPress Plugins I Use. This is an updated version of that very list. It’s not much different from the previous one except that I have stopped using some of the plugins from that list and started using some new ones to increase functionality of my blog and keep it running in an optimized and tip-top shape.

So, without further ado, here comes the list:

(Please note that the list shown here is compiled in an alphabetical order and not by order of preference. To ensure this, I have used an unordered list to be fair to all the plugins. All the plugins are equally important for me.)

  • AddThis Social Bookmarking Widget (drop-down), v1.2: Lets you add your site to various social sites from a single point
  • Adsense Manager, v3.2.13: Manage your adsense campaigns from a single place
  • Akismet, v2.1.6: Block spam comments
  • Antileech, v1.7: Block leechers from steeling your bandwidth
  • Bad Behavior, v 2.0.20: Block bots and other unsocial web elements from accessing your site
  • Countdown Timer, v2.2.3: Create countdown timers to your favorite events
  • Feedburner Feedsmith, v2.2: Redirect all the site feeds to your Feedburner URL
  • Google Sitemaps, v2.7.1: Generate a XML sitemap for Google
  • Gravatar Plugin, v1.1: Integrate Gravatar into the comments for your site
  • Math Comment Spam Protection, v2.2: Pose simple questions to a commenter to avoid spam
  • MyBlogLog Widget, v2.0: Integrate your MyBlogLog into your Blog
  • Page Link Manager, v0.3: Manage Pages and choose whether they appear in the navigation or not
  • Quick SMS, v3.0.3: Let users send you a quick SMS
  • Random Redirect, v1.0.1: Let users browse your website randomly post by post
  • Related Posts, v2.04: Display possible related posts
  • Simple Trackback Validation, v2.1: Lets you check the genuineness of the trackback to your posts
  • Spam Karma, v2.1 rc4: Filters spam comments even before they are posted
  • TLA InLinks, v1.1: Integrate Text Link Ads into your post
  • WordPress Database Backup, v2.1.5: Lets you make On demand Back Up of your WordPress database
  • Worldwide Lexicon, v0.9.5: Let your site or posts be translated on the World Wide Lexicon Project
  • WP-EMail, v2.31: Lets your users email their fav posts to their friends/family.
  • WP-PostRatings, v1.31: Lets the users rate their fav posts
  • WP-Print, v2.31: Lets the user print their fav page or post
  • WP-Sticky, v1.31: Lets you display a post as a notice
  • WP Wetfloor, v1.6-a: Lets you mirror images on your site.

Well, I know what you are thinking right now, that’s a hell of a list. And, yes, I know I haven’t provided links to the respective plugin because I know you will find most of them at the WordPress Plugins Repository.

BTW, before installing a plugin, do keep one thing in your mind. The more plugins you have on your blog, the slower it’s gonna become. If you are the one who boasts about how fast your blog is, then do not install plugins. But if you really need one, install it.

All these plugins, as mentioned in the list above, are definitely compatible with WordPress 2.6. I am using it with them and they don’t seem to bother me at all. So, don’t worry about compatibility.

There. That’s it I guess. See you around.
