The holy month of fasting for Muslims worldwide, the month of Ramadan 2007 will start very soon here in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

This is a month of showing your gratitude and thank Allah for what He has given to us in this world. A month to show your your family, your friends, and your neighbors (irrespective of their caste, creed, race or religion) your love, respect and hospitality.

During the time of the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) in the city of Madinah (and even now), people used to go out of their homes in search of people (no matter who they were) to invite them for the meal of breakfast or lunch or dinner if they had enough to share it with them. An example of what hospitality should be.

In today’s fast paced times, people have forgotten these small gestures of kindness and love and humanity. In their quest for money and more money, people have forgotten that they are humans and these gestures are a part of human nature.

I believe we can do good for everybody just by showing our intentions by way of these small gestures. Don’t you think so?
