Plagiarism has reached it’s peak with this, I must say. After I reported previously about Chak De India, now it seems another big movie releasing this Friday is also inspired.

Yep, I’m talking about the Sajid Khan directed and Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan and Riteish Deshmukh starrer Heyy Babyy.

As far as I can judge from the promos of the movie showing us three carefree bachelors who get a baby and don’t know whose it is, I can tell you that it is based on (if not completely ripped off from) the 1987 Hollywood Blockbuster, “Three Men and a Baby“. Now the irony of all this is, the Hollywood movie was in-turn based on the script of the 1985 hit from France, “Trois hommes et un couffin” (Three Men and a Cradle). Although it can turn out to be a great entertainer in the end, but the fact that it is an inspired one from a foreign flick takes the fun out of the movie.

I don’t mean to play a spoil sport, I only state a fact that I came across that’s all.

The movie is looking good (and of course it has my favorite Akshay Kumar) and it should be one good movie with Sajid Khan wielding the megaphone. Although Sajid Khan directed a segment for Ram Gopal Varma’s Darna Zaroori Hai, this movie marks his debut as a director.

Another good news is, Shahrukh Khan is making a guest appearance in the movie for a song called “Mast Kalandar“. He will be seen shaking his legs alongside Akshay and Fardeen.

The movie releases on 24th August, 2007.
