Update on SRK’s new movie, Chak De India: It seems it is ‘inspired’ by “Miracle”

It seems our filmmakers are certainly short on original ideas. They don’t seem to be ashamed of getting inspired by (read copying from) foreign movies.
It seems that Shahrukh Khan has himself stepped into a movie that too from the esteemed Yash Raj Films banner that is reportedly inspired by Kurt Russell Hollywood starrer, Miracle. It is to be noted here that Russell plays a coach to an ice-hockey team inspiring them to win. He earned an Oscar nomination for the movie which came in 2004.
Shahrukh Khan has been almost free from acting in inspired movies except a couple of odd movies like “Baadshah” which copied the Johnny Depp thriller, Nick of Time.

What many of you do not know is that Shahrukh himself suggested the story idea of the movie. The original was a great thriller with good acting by Depp and the desi version was made into a comedy-thriller which didn’t have the punch of the original.
Well let us wait and watch the fate of the desi Miracle! I only hope SRK can pull it off. By the way, don’t take this as my acceptance of the blatant copying that is taking place in Bollywood these days. I just hope people can come up with original ideas for their movies rather than cook-up a half baked script based on some foreign flick.
